I've bought three pairs in two years because the buttons ripped off, the buds had no guard over the speakers, ear wax and sweat built up, and one stopped working.
I'm glad the newer version includes a protective film over the speaker under the buds, a better button case, and more cable support. These Sony earphones sound great. I hope the newer version doesn't get the same issues as the previous ones.
