Anime and manga author Rumiko Takahashi, who made a name for herself with such fantasies as INUYASHA and RANMA 1/2, turns to dark horror with the series MERMAID FOREST. Yuta and Mana have lived for hundreds of years, cursed to wander the world as immortals after eating a mermaid's flesh. Tired of watching those around them grow old and die, the two seek out another mermaid in the hopes of discovering a reversal for their condition. In VOLUME THREE: UNQUENCHABLE THIRST, Yuta thinks he has made a fellow immortal friend in street performer Natsume. But when Natsume suddenly attacks Yuta, it turns out she is not at all what Yuta had hoped.
