Seller notes: “This book is in very good condition with significant restoration. The book is all original and ... “This book is in very good condition with significant restoration. The book is all original and complete with original endpapers, text and illustrations. The original sheep leather covered boards were retained with the corners repaired and reinforced. The original spine leather and spine label was retained and placed over the new leather spine with the new leather at the joints carefully fitted into the old leather of the boards. The gilt at the edges of the spine ends was restored. Hinges are reinforced with cloth and then covered by new paper. The original salmon endpapers have been retained and reused. The endpapers show tanning on the outer edges from the acid in the original leather, but are otherwise clean. As with all century old plus books, the book requires moderate care in handling, but at least it won’t fall apart in your hands or require being kept in a box to keep it all together.
