The unit may have been tested but the earphone was not put back into the package & the 2 batteries were dead. I put two fresh batteries in & used the earphone from my other unit & it works okay. You have to play with the jack some to get stereo but they're all like that. I've had several of these I use while jogging & they do the job. You can't beat the price. The USPS "missent" the package to the wrong PO but that wasn't your fault. Aside from all that I'm happy to have this as a backup.
