Seller notes: “A very good/fine 1863 Civil War Patriotic cover featuring a flag in BLUE, with the logo "The Union ... “A very good/fine 1863 Civil War Patriotic cover featuring a flag in BLUE, with the logo "The Union of the Lakes, the Union of the Lands/The Union of States none can never sever,/ The Union of Hearts, the Union of Hands/And the Flag of our union forever." Similar to Bischel 5198, but in blue not red. Franked with a 3c Brown (faults) and pen cancelled. Sent to Nancy Lesley, Jefferson, Clinton County, Indiana. Contains a very interesting letter from brother (soldier) to sister, explaining that he cannot send her a miniature of himself: "...to get a picture here they charge one to five dollars..." (see scan).”
