Seller notes: “Scarce first printing of the Lord of the Rings. Three volumes. Original red cloth hardbacks in ... “Scarce first printing of the Lord of the Rings. Three volumes. Original red cloth hardbacks in original dustwrappers. Top edge red. The Fellowship of the Ring is the fourteenth impression. The Two Towers and The Return of the King are eleventh impressions. All printed in 1965. The dustwrappers are well worn with sellotape repairs. A large piece of the spine on the Fellowship of the Rings is missing and there is a chip to the bottom of the spine of The Two Towers (see pictures). The books are in attractive condition with just a little wear to the spine ends (see pictures). Internally clean and bright. Free of inscriptions. All have the original maps to the rear of each volume. All present and correct. A nice set. Scarce.”
