Product Information
The Almanach de Gotha is a reference source for the genealogies of royal and princely houses of Europe and their descendants. It was first published in 1763 in the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg Gotha (famous for providing consorts for Queen Victoria and Queen Maria of Portugal, as well as the kings of Belgium and Bulgaria), but was taken over as a nationalized asset when the duchy became part of East Germany after World War II. The reunification of Germany led to publication being resumed in 1998. This new edition, taking the Almanach de Gotha into a fourth century of publishing, updates that of 1998. It includes updated information on new births, marriages, deaths and dissolutions, changes in family headship and private addresses. There is also a fuller index listing Gotha family entrants, their spouses and in-laws by name.Product Identifiers
