A pair of layers of resistive mesh form multiple densities over the dynamic elements’ side entry ports and have precise control over the time at which off-axis signals arrive at the microphone’s diaphragm, which is tensioned and aged for long-term stability and consistency. The Audio Technica Artist Elite AE2500’s condenser element features an 80 hertz high pass filter switch and a 10 decibel pad that lowers the microphone’s sensitivity, providing higher sound pressure level capability for flexible use with a wide range of users and system configurations. The pad allows for a choice of flat response or low-frequency roll-off and is achieved by using the end tip of a small pointed instrument to slide the microphone’s switch toward the -10 position. An integral 80 hertz high pass filter on the condenser element provides easy switching from a flat frequency response to a low-end roll-off. To engage the high pass filter, use the end of a small pointed object to slide the switch toward the bent line. The microphone measures 6.5 inches long, has a maximum diameter of 2.17 inches, weighs 13.8 ounces and comes with a soft protective pouch.
