John Becker (Ted Danson, CHEERS) is not your average doctor; he's rude, arrogant and, ironically, has very little patience for his patients. Yet despite his seeming animosity towards the general public, he runs a successful practice in The Bronx that sees a steady influx of sick people just waiting to try his nerves. Those who know him best, like his friends and co-workers, stick by him because they know that beneath his gruff exterior lies a caring person with a genuine desire to help people. But it's his total lack of social etiquette that gets him into trouble every time, as he offends just about everyone he meets!
