Sir Winston Churchill's daughter Lady Soames takes viewers on a guided tour of Chartwell, the Victorian estate where her family resided for 40 years. Born around the same time her father purchased the home in 1922, Mary spent 17 years living at Chartwell, and it was during that time that she saw her father face some of the biggest challenges of his entire career. In addition to getting a rare glimpse at the rooms in which Churchill penned his most celebrated speeches and entertained royalty from around the world, viewers are also invited to tour the gardens that offered the prime minister a quiet place to ponder some of the most pressing problems of the 20th century. An additional visit to Blenheim Palace takes us to the place where Churchill came into this world, and where he was laid to rest in 1965.
