NotesCOUNTRY BLUES AND STORY SONGS, Reid's third album (his second for Fewer Sorrows Music), is a great combination of 'hard' blues, country blues, and ballads ('story songs'), with both cover standards and songs written by Bill and his friends. Whether you're relaxing in the evening, driving to or from your job, listening at work, or just headed down the road, you're gonna like this stuff! The album is masterfully recorded and produced. Bill does lead vocals and guitar backed by The Fewer Sorrows Band, one of the best in the business (Bill Hullett, lead guitar; Clayton Ivey, piano; Glen Duncan, fiddle; Mike Douchette, steel & blues harp; Dow Tomlin, bass; Tommy Wells, drums; and the Nashville Nightingale, J'Nae Fincannon). It was produced by Grammy nominee and million-seller Brian Collins ("Hello, Texas," "Statue of a Fool"), recorded at Nashville's Hilltop Studios (John Nicholson, engineer), and mastered by Jerry Tubb at the famed Terra Nova studios in Austin, Texas. ABOUT THE ARTIST: Bill Reid has been playing and writing music since before you were born. He's played blues with the best, folk music with the folksiest, and Americana all over America. His first album, The Folk Singer Cometh (Studio City Records), was released 'way back in 1964. In 2010, he recorded A Place Inside My Heart, featuring two of his Austin Songwriter Competition winners. Bill's performances are finger-style blues & Americana, Texas country, and good old folk music, at places like Luckenbach, Texas; Austin's Cactus Cafe, and other venues in the southwestern U.S., Nashville, and elsewhere.
