Dell Magazines Crosswords brings elements of competition to the traditional leisure pastime of solving crossword puzzles. Two players can compete head-to-head or collaborate in a team effort to figure out the clues in more than 1,200 puzzles. Two-player turn time limits can be set at 30, 45 or 60 seconds. In solo play, options include use of a timer and the ability to solve for any letter, word or the whole puzzle at one keystroke.<br><br>Other features include three backgrounds (newspaper and lime or grape satin), optional music, marking solved clues, statistics, error alerts and six settings for puzzle difficulty (any, easy, easy and medium, medium, medium and hard or hard only). Crosswords can be printed out or solved on the screen with or without the CD in the drive -- the latter choice eliminates animations and music.<br><br>As an added bonus, Dell Magazines Crosswords includes the Webster's New World collegiate dictionary on CD, complete with spellings and multiple definitions.
