In the process of trying to make sense of her sudden and inexplicable suicide, Mary Alice's friends end up revealing just as many secrets about themselves and their neighbours as they do about her past. Each episode follows the ups and downs in the lives of bored trophy wife Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria), klutzy-yet-charming Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher), frustrated stay-at-home-mom Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman), anal-retentive homemaker Bree Van de Kamp (Marcia Cross) and man-eater Edie (Nicollette Sheridan). Throughout the 5 series, each woman faces her fair share of drama and does her part in helping to uncover a string of mysteries that go deeper than anyone can imagine. The fifth series sees events flash forward five years, revealing the mysteries of the intervening years through clever flashbacks. The sixth series settles back down to real-time, but not for long; as a devastating plane crash changes the lives of everyone on Wisteria Lane. This release also includes the seventh and eighth and final series.

ReviewsSan Francisco Chronicle - There are almost too many things to love in "DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES." Felicity Huffman is -- as usual -- phenomenal as a mother down to her last, shredding nerve. Hatcher is a huge surprise here, giving self-effacing, disheveled and sadly hopeless Susan a spirit that makes you root for her. Cross is almost too perfect as uptight Bree, managing to give the character more shadings than merely insanely perfect. Sheridan is a veteran at the vixen role but brings a level of vicious humor to it this time and Longoria is pretty much all the hot anyone can handle., DVD Verdict - The guiltiest pleasure on television, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES has broken every commandment in the Bible and every law on the books. But we wouldn't have it any other way. The show has made housewives hot, and America has noticed. We've all learned "sometimes evil drives a minivan."
