NotesHow does one come about with an inspiration to create a 'Singing Rosary'. In my own case, it happened when I least expected, but isn't that how God always works with we poor souls. A Little Background. I'm a professional singer, entertainer, recording artist, songwriter, owner of a recording studio and host of a public policy issues program which airs daily on cable television in South Florida. The Professional Years. Along with two of my brothers, Art and Pete, as The Lane Brothers, we toured and entertained the length and breadth of America, Canada, Europe, and on world cruise lines for a number of years. We recorded for the RCA Victor record label both in New York and in Nashville and appeared on national television Shows such as, The Jackie Gleason Show, The Tonight Show, Dick Clark's Bandstand, The Mike Douglas Show and others. The Early Days. Being from a Roman Catholic home and brought up as altar boys and choir boys, and being three of ten children, we have always found a way to attend Mass on Sundays, and in Art's case, everyday, and generally we have tried to live our lives according to the tenets of the Church. I've composed songs since my youth, but I had never explored writing for the Lord, until one day in the mid '80's when at the urging of my wife and partner Phyllis, a Presbyterian by way of the Nazarene Church, I wrote, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, a series of what I referred to as 'Jesus' songs, primarily for a young Seminole Christian couple who came by the studio one day, and we proceeded to record an album. Soon I began singing my own 'Jesus' songs and appeared many times on the 'New Breed of Man' television program aired on the Trinity Broadcasting Network. The 'Singing Rosary'. I have never been a 'rosary' person for whatever reason, while my brother Art on the other hand has been faithful to Our Blessed Mother for many years as a Blue Army Member. I'm also sure that my sweet mothers' devotion to Mary and the rosary rubbed off on me more than I realized at the time. One evening at my home in 1992 while attempting to write some new songs for the Lord, along with my guitar, I found myself singing a melody to the 'Hail Mary'. As I refined it and worked it to match the words, I discovered that the same melody fit the "Our Father and the 'Glory Be' to my pleasant surprise. Yes! The Lord does work in mysterious ways. I guess He surmised that if this poor soul would not 'say' the rosary to His Blessed Mother, He would give me a melody and have me 'sing' it. I'm most grateful to the Lord for the inspiration to compose this, 'Singing Rosary', and for all of the talents He so graciously entrusted to me. I pray that through His wonderful grace, I will continue to sing the Praises of the Lord here on Earth and forever in God's heavenly kingdom. May this 'Singing Rosary' bless and inspire you to even greater spirituality each time you pray it. An accolade to five friends. I want to express my sincere gratitude to a friend and gifted musician, Hernan 'Teddy' Mulet, whose wonderful talents are heard throughout the 'Singing Rosary'. Teddy composed and performed the opening musical Preludes to the Joyful, Sorrowful and Glorious Mysteries. Each piece prepares us to enter into a prayerful and meditative state. Teddy tells us that his dear mother is a 'rosary' person, and I'm sure that her silent prayers helped inspire her son to create these moving and spiritual preludes. Teddy has been a member of the world famous Miami Sound Machine with Gloria Estefan for a number of years, and his beautiful trumpet, trombone and orchestral sounds are heard on many Grammy winning CD's throughout the world. Thanks Teddy, for sharing your extraordinary talents with us. A special 'Thank you' to my dear friend and colleague Dennis 'Bach' Blischak for sharing his multiple keyboard talents on the musical intro and background on Mysteries of Light. And 'Thanks' to our two wonderful Pro-tools engineers, Grammy winner R
