Hostage thriller set in an under-resourced American high school. When a popular teacher is suspended, some of the pupils protest and in the ensuing scuffle a security guard is injured and taken hostage. The situation rapidly escalates as armed police arrive and the media pick up the story. However, the captive guard starts to sympathise with the students' complaints about freezing classrooms and scarce textbooks.
