Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 for Sony PlayStation 3 is the much-anticipated sequel to the 2006 original, Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Alliance 2, a Marvel RPG, features a plot based on the civil war storyline from the Marvel comic book series. With the U.S. government mandating all super heroes register themselves as weapons of mass destruction, two distinct factions have formed. On one side is the pro-registration group of Marvel characters, spearheaded by Ironman. On the other is the anti-registration group led by Captain America. As a Marvel RPG-Action hybrid, the game gives players the option of choosing to fight for either side, and then hand-pick a four person squad from a list of over 24 of Marvel's most famous heroes and villains, including Spiderman, Wolverine, Deadpool, Venom, Thor, Daredevil, and more. As in the first installment, characters in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 advance in level as they gain experience, unlocking special powers and abilities along the way. Marvel Characters also team up to create special fusion powers that can be unleashed to devastating effect. Combine The Human Torch and Thor and watch as they create a fiery tornado of destruction. As gameplay advances, so do the stakes, making solo play just as fun as a cooperative campaign.
