A Monster High collection is not complete without the fashion-forward Operetta doll from the Scaritage line, also known as the Monster Pride or I Heart Accessories line, which was introduced in early July of 2014. The Monster High dolls in this line are known for featuring more accessories than the dolls in other Monster High series. Everyone knows the accessories make the monster. The daughter of the infamous Phantom of the Opera, Operetta has some subtle and intricate face scarring like her dad and comes with a heart-shaped half-face mask of her own. The mask can be effortlessly attached through a hole in the doll’s ear, so you decide when she wears it or not. A white dangling earring can be worn in the opposite ear. This rockabilly-style Operetta doll features fabulous accessories, including a white bag adorned with red music notes and an additional black and pink purse with piano key accents. The white bag even opens and is large enough to fit other accessories inside. Operetta wears a black collared shirt with red and white spider web detailing paired with high-waisted capri pants with a dice and plaid pattern. A sheer pink scarf adds to the '50s feel while a shiny black dice belt and music note tattoos round out the doll’s edgy rock star style. Operetta’s pink and white high-heeled shoes complete her rockabilly look. You can mix and match pieces belonging to the other Operetta dolls in your Monster High collection for even more fashion-forward fun. This Operetta doll features a pinker hue than other versions. She wears a smoky red and black eyeshadow look as well as red lipstick. An included hairbrush means you can style this Monster High doll’s red and black hair any way you like, but she comes in the package wearing a ponytail with a slight bump in the front. A piece of Styrofoam hidden underneath the hair gives this bump extra volume. Use Operetta’s scarf as a hair bow instead to mix up her look even more. Articulated joints and an accompanying stand allow the Monster High Scaritage Operetta doll to be easily posed for displays with the other fashionable Monster High dolls from Mattel, such as Skelita Calaveras, who is also featured in the Scaritage line, or Frankie Stein, daughter of Frankenstein. Operetta’s waist swivels more than most, giving her a wider range of movement for even more interesting poses. Monster High dolls also feature removable hands to make exchanging clothing, or body parts, even simpler. Without her shoes and stand, Operetta is 10 inches tall, but with both, she stands at 12.75 inches. The shipping weight for this Monster High doll is 8.8 ounces. Because of the smaller accessories, this toy is meant for children over the age of 3. The manufacturer’s recommended age range is 6 to 15, but no collector could go wrong by adding the glamorous and rebellious Operetta to their set.
