Quake II Mission Pack: Ground Zero is developer Rogue Entertainment's second add-on for the Quake franchise. Their 1997 award-winning Dissolution of Eternity add-on for Quake was considered by many to exceed the original in quality and gameplay. In Ground Zero, players must destroy the Gravity Well, fighting hordes of Strogg monstrosities from the bio-vats in 14 levels (not including an additional ten deathmatch levels). Enemies include Stalker, Turret, Daedalus, Medic Commander, Carrier, and the Black Widow.<br><br>The mission pack features a host of new weapons, equipment, and environments. The arsenal now includes a chain saw, plasma beam, Proximity Launcher, and ETF rifle, as well as new supplies like flechettes (ETF rifle), proximity mines, and Tesia mines. In deathmatch, new power up items include Vengeance Spheres, Hunter Spheres, anti-matter bombs, and a Doppelganger mirror image to confuse the enemy in addition to other items like double damage, IR goggles, and a Defender Sphere.
