This tribute concert to legendary country-rock pioneer Gram Parsons is a moment in rock history that stands on its own. Organised by his daughter Polly Parsons, it showcases the diverse range of talent that Parsons' music came to influence and which, sadly, he never lived to witness. Coming together at the Santa Barbara Bowl on July 9, 2004, the lineup bears witness to Parsons' extraordinary range and belief in music's diversity, which was showcased in his work with The Flying Burrito and The Byrds, as well as his solo releases. Backed by the Sin City All Stars, performers such as John Doe (formerly of the X), Steve Earle, Kathleen Edwards, Jay Farrar (ex-Uncle Tupelo and Son Volt), The House of Blues Gospel Choir, Jim James, Norah Jones, Jim Lauderdale, Raul Malo, Susan Marshall, Keith Richards, Lucinda Williams, and Dwight Yoakam, all pay tribute to this singular voice in music.
