NotesIn the spirit of the troubadours of old, Kerry Grombacher's contemporary western folk songs paint vivid portraits and tell the fascinating stories of workig cowboys, outlaws, rodeo bullriders, and wolf trappers. Cowboys & Indians Magazine said songwriter Kerry Grombacher "...is one of the West's new breed, who builds on, embellishes, expands, and updates traditional Western themes and idioms." In the course of his nationwide tours, Kerry has sung his songs on stages as varied as the Newport Folk Festival (Newport, RI) and Cowboy Songs & Range Ballads (Cody, WY), the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival (New Orleans, LA) and the Durango Cowboy Poetry Gathering (Durango, CO). In addition to appearances at Folk Festivals and Cowboy Gatherings, he performs regularly at coffeehouses, house concerts and other folk music venues and he has been featured on "River City Folk," the folk music interview program that is heard across the country on public radio stations. Kerry released "Riding for the Brand," this collection of original western songs, in 1999. 'Sands Motel' was released in 2001; his earlier recordings, released on cassette, are "Dreams of New Orleans" and "Home to the West." His songs have been recorded or performed by artists including Chris Chandler, The Texas Trailhands, Duke Davis, Gary Prescott, Earl Gleason and Trails & Rails.
