The Samyang 14-mm F/2.8 UMC Aspherical IF ED Lens is an ultra-wide-angle lens for cameras developed by Samyang of Korea. It is co-branded by many companies, including Bower and Rokinon. This Samyang lens has been designed to be a low-cost alternative to many high-end brands and also to be compatible with many DSLR cameras including models from Sony and Canon. The build of this Samyang 14-mm lens is extremely robust; the materials which have gone into producing the Samyang 14-mm F/2.8 UMC Aspherical IF ED Lens include a combination of metals and good quality plastic. The operation of the focus ring is as smooth as any other. The aperture ring operates in discrete steps. The entire process of focussing takes place inside the Samyang lens so the physical size of the lens does not change. The front unit is bulb-shaped and fixed. This Samyang 14-mm lens includes a snap-on lens protector, allowing for safe transportation of the unit. The Samyang 14-mm F/2.8 UMC Aspherical IF ED Lens has a minimum focus distance of 0.28 m and contains six aperture blades. The lens weighs little over 500 g, an ideal weight for a frequent traveller.
