Follow wide-eyed Dorothy (Judy Garland) and her ragtag friends Scarecrow, Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion as they head down the Yellow Brick Road in search of Emerald City and the all-powerful Wizard of Oz. Shot partly in black and white, partly in Technicolor, THE WIZARD OF OZ is a perfect juxtaposition of reality and fantasy. In the musical comedy SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, the advent of sound in motion pictures causes a problem for a tonally-challenged actress whose voice is better suited to silent movies! Complications ensue when the studio secretly hires a voice-over artist who not only steals her lines, but the affections of her on-screen partner Don Lockwood (Gene Kelly) too. In MY FAIR LADY, egotistical professor Henry Higgins (Oscar winner Rex Harrison) tries to transform unrefined Cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle (Audrey Hepburn) into a lady in time for an important society ball. But his ingΘnue proves quite a handful and he soon realises, to his confusion, that he can't live without her. Based on George Bernard Shaw's 1913 play PYGMALION, the film features a winning score by Lerner and Loewe. Rounding off the set is HIGH SOCIETY, a romantic comedy starring Grace Kelly as beautiful, aloof Newport heiress Tracy Lord, who is torn between three potential suitors, all eager to win her affections. The film--adapted from THE PHILADELPHIA STORY--features music by Cole Porter and co-stars Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra.
