After leaving their Los Angeles band The Apostles behind, writer/vocalist Pat Monahan, and guitarist Rob Hotchkiss headed north to San Francisco, where they entertained coffee shop patrons with simple, acoustic sets. Over time, the duo decided to take things to the next level, and added a full band to their act. Though Train's first independently released album didn't attract too much attention, 2001s DROPS OF JUPITER earned them widespread acclaim. With the album's huge success, the band felt immense pressure to create an equally impressive follow-up album. Though critics had their doubts that Train would pull through, 2003s MY PRIVATE NATION became a testament to the creative songwriting abilities and natural talent of the band. "Calling All Angels," with its hopeful, uplifting message and epic scale, appealed greatly to fans in search of the ultimate rock anthem. This dual disc features the CD version of MY PRIVATE NATION on one side and a DVD-Audio version with bonus video material on the other.
