Additional information2 LPs on 1 CD: TWIST & SHOUT (1963)/ IT'S ABOUT TIME (1965). Includes 2 complete EPs: SWINGING ON A STAR/TIME IS ON MY SIDE. The Tremeloes: Brian Poole (vocals); Alan Blakely, Ricky West (guitar); Alan Howard (bass guitar); Dave Munden (drums). Audio Remasterer: Andrew Thompson . Liner Note Authors: Alan Smith ; David Wells ; Mike Smith . Photographer: Michael Lyons. Beat Goes On has combined the two LPs by Brian Poole & the Tremeloes with their two EPs, Swinging on a Star and Time Is on My Side, on two separate CDs in a single, double-disc package. The 39 tracks on Twist and Shout/It's About Time don't represent the most substantial work of the early British Invasion, but they are enjoyable and do show this band trying hard to emulate American rock & roll. The EPs were generally more of the same in terms of their approach with the LPs, covers of American rock interspersed with British-spawned pieces and even an occasional group original. The sound here is excellent, and this is a welcome addition to the Brian Poole & the Tremeloes discography -- but it's also incomplete, missing "Do You Love Me," "I Want Candy," and other songs that were solely associated with their 45 rpms. ~ Bruce Eder
