The show is based around the Boyles, who consist of a husband and wife and their three children. The Boyles' young nine-year-old, Jamie, displays frighteningly advanced knowledge of economics, while his brother, Chet, sleeps a lot, and his sister, Alice, campaigns for women's rights.
