NotesSupraluxe was borne out of a weekly standing jam session called Rock Club. Rock Club included a rotating cast of up to 12 musicians and a range of instrumentations and quickly evolved into a project with both shape and form. Jim Risser, Bob Burns and Rich Pearson moved out of the practice space and into the basement studio to capture their work and formalize song structure. With their second album, "Wake Leave Home Sleep", Supraluxe continues to use the classic rock guitars and unforgettable hooks pervading their first album. This time around, they've recruited Rock Club alumnus Bill Lee to play drums and add random guitar sounds, as well as another perspective to the sound. The result is an epic, up-beat, grown-up set of songs that feels just as right on a cassette deck as on an ipod. Praise for the first album: "Supraluxe is a straightforward pop rock album with too many bright spots to point out...lush chordal melodies and dreamy pop hooks...Supraluxe has that musical maturity of my dad's Cali-pop rock collection with a freshness of style he'd never appreciate." - Perfect Porridge "Deftly straddling the line between slick pop and garage rock...Supraluxe packages feelings of emptiness, anxiety and isolation with lush, danceable indie pop songs, complete with handclaps galore. It's stuff that makes you smile and tap your toes while you scratch your head." -RIFT magazine.
