Additional informationWith airy keyboards, elastic bass lines, tribal drumming, heavy metal guitar riffing, and singing that dipped in and out of key, Faith No More's first album, WE CARE ALOT, was unleashed on an unsuspecting world in 1985. It was virtually unheard of for an alternative band (or back then, "college radio band") to produce such an original sound. Since many major labels back then were loath to sign a group like Faith No More, the band's debut was released through the independent label Mordam Records. The album set a promising stage for the future. The best-known cut is the snide title track, which complains about the irony of rich musicians jumping on the charity bandwagon (marked by Live Aid concert and the "We Are the World" project). Also included is the future perennial concert favorite "As the Worm Turns," as well as "Jungle," "Mark Bowen," "Pills for Breakfast," and "New Beginnings."
