Purchase protection programmes for buyers


We want you to shop confidently on eBay, but if a problem arises, contact the seller. Our sellers normally work with buyers to quickly resolve any issues, but our purchase protection programmes cab help you to resolve any disputes that may arise between you and the seller.

Purchase protection programmes are different on each of our international sites. When you shop on eBay, you’re covered by the purchase protection programme available on the site where the transaction took place.

When you pay with PayPal on, you're protected by PayPal Buyer Protection on eligible purchases. You can file a dispute in the PayPal Resolution Centre to request a refund for the cost of the item, including original postage costs.
