Feedback manipulation policy
eBay's Feedback system allows members to rate each other after a transaction. It's a way to earn a good reputation as a buyer and seller on our website.
To make sure this system runs as smoothly and as fairly as possible, we have rules on how it's used. Of course, we don't allow manipulating Feedback or detailed seller ratings (DSRs) in any way (see our guidelines below for examples and more information).
Make sure you follow these guidelines. If you don't, your Feedback may be removed, and you may be subject to a range of other actions, including restrictions of your buying and selling privileges and suspension of your account.
What are the guidelines?
These guidelines also apply to digitally delivered goods.
In addition to these guidelines, we’ll remove Feedback from buyers that show patterns of disproportionately high rates of low Feedback and/or detailed seller ratings.
Reporting a violation
Help us make Feedback and detailed seller ratings as fair and honest as possible. If you see a violation of our policy, report it to us. Be sure to provide the member's user ID, the item number (if applicable), and a brief summary of the situation. Here's where you can file a report:
Just like the real world, you earn a reputation based on your actions and how well you treat others. The eBay Feedback system works pretty much the same way. We want to keep it honest and fair for all members, and our rules help us do that.
