Closing Your eBay Shop

We value our eBay Shop sellers and hope you'll contact us to address any issues before you decide to close your Shop. Consider the following information before you decide.

Information about cancelling or changing your Shop subscription

If you close your eBay Shop:

  • All of your current auction-style listings (even when combined with a fixed price option) will remain active until their ending date is reached or they are sold.

  • Any active Fixed Price listings will continue at the Shop subscription rate.

  • Good 'Til Cancelled listings will be automatically renewed at the non-Shop listing fee rate, ( end your GTC listings manually to avoid auto-renewal at non-Shop rates).

  • Feature fees you have incurred will not be reimbursed.

  • If you change your mind, you can always re-open your Shop. We'll save your Shop settings for 30 days.

  • Before you decide to close your Shop, read our tips to help bring more traffic to your Shop.

  • If you cancel your Shop during a free trial period, any outstanding subscription charges will be credited back to your account.

  • If you cancel your Shop subscription, your current subscription and benefits will remain active until the end of the calendar month.

If you change your eBay Shop subscription:

  • If you downgrade your Shop subscription (to a subscription with fewer benefits), your current subscription and benefits will remain active until the end of the calendar month during which you elect to downgrade. The new Store level and subscription fees will take effect from the beginning of the following month.

  • If you upgrade your Shop subscription (to a subscription level with more benefits), the new subscription and benefits take effect immediately. Monthly fees for the unused portion of the old subscription are prorated and credited back to you. Your upgraded subscription fee is also prorated for the current invoice month and your upgraded subscription is treated as a new subscription.

Tips to help bring more traffic to your Shop

Use a mix of auction-style and fixed price listings. Listing in all formats is the best way to get different types of exposure on eBay and help buyers discover your Shop.  Here are some listing suggestions for various items:
  • Unique items: We suggest a high level of auction-style and fixed price items to attract demand.

  • Accessories and hard-to-find Items: We suggest an approximately even split of auction-style and fixed price listings.

  • Accessories with inventory depth:  We suggest a higher level of Shop Inventory listings.
