Managing your eBay Shop

Once you've opened an eBay Shop, you can begin to personalize your shop to let buyers know more about your business and the products you sell.

We're rolling out some changes to help you showcase your inventory and attract more buyers to your eBay Shop. Keep an eye out for the following updates and new features:
  • About tab

  • Category menu

  • Branded mini-header and accessible search bar

  • Marketing banners

  • Shop policies

  • Featured listings and categories

You'll find all the tools for managing and customizing your eBay Shop in Seller Hub. You can organize your listings within custom shop categories, select items to feature, and more. Find more about managing your shop in the Seller Center.

If you haven't opted in to Seller Hub, you can do so when you select Manage eBay Shop below.

Add your shop logo and billboard

Adding your logo and a billboard image can give your shop a more professional finish. The billboard is displayed across the top of your shopfront so make sure to choose an image that represents your brand and shop.

Here's how to add or change your shop logo or billboard:
  1. Select the Shop tab in Seller Hub.

  2. Go to the Billboard or Logo section.

  3. Select Add Image.

Your logo size should be 300 x 300 pixels and less than 12MB. Your billboard should be 1200 x 270 pixels and less than 12MB.

Add an About description and shop policies

Let buyers know more about your business by including a short description about your brand or company and what you sell. Buyers will be able to read your description by selecting the About tab on your shopfront.

Here's how to add a description of your eBay Shop:
  1. Select the Shop tab in Seller Hub and select the About tab.

  2. Enter your description in the About this shop section.

  3. Select Preview or Publish.

You can also add shop policies to the About tab, choosing from Shipping, Returns, Warranty, Data Privacy Policy, and Other Policies.

Here's how to add your shop policies:
  1. Select the Shop tab in Seller Hub and select the About tab.

  2. Choose a policy from the Select policy dropdown and select Add policy.

  3. Copy and paste your policy into the text field and select Preview or Publish.

Keep in mind, there's a 4,000 character limit on policies, and your policies should be applicable to all listings in your shop.

If you need to take a break from your eBay Shop, you can schedule some time away and choose whether you want to allow or pause item sales. Find out more in our Time Away page.

Feature your listings

Show your products to more buyers by adding rows of featured listings to your shopfront. You can choose to display your items under the following titles: Featured listings, Best Sellers, Popular Products, Holiday Collection, Items on Sale, Just In, Top Picks.

How to feature your listings:
  1. Select the Shop tab in Seller Hub.

  2. Go to the Feature your listings section.

  3. Select a title from the Select row name dropdown and select Add row.

  4. Choose your featured listings by selecting Select a listing.

You can add up to 4 rows of listings and up to 6 listings per row. If you'd like to change or delete the listings displayed on your shopfront, simply select the pencil icon on the listing tile.

Manage shop categories

You can create up to 300 shop categories to help organize your listings and display your items to buyers. You don't need to use the categories on the eBay site — you can create your own.

Here's how to create a category in your eBay Shop:
  1. Select the Shop tab in Seller Hub.

  2. Select Shop Categories on the left-hand side.

  3. Select Add Categories to add up to 5 categories that best fit the items you're selling.

  4. Select Save.

You can also add subcategories to your categories by selecting Edit next to the categories on the Manage Shop Categories page. However, you won't be able to create subcategories if your categories already contain listings.

If you'd like to delete or rename a category, you can do so by selecting Edit next to the category.

Featured categories

Once you've created your categories, you can choose to feature up to 6 categories on your shopfront to help buyers shop by category.

Here's how to feature categories:
  1. Select the Shop tab in Seller Hub.

  2. Under Featured categories, select Add categories.

  3. Select a category from the Category dropdown.

  4. Select Add Image and choose your image.

  5. Select Preview or Publish .

When choosing your image, it’s best to use a square image that's 300 x 300 pixels. Categories need to contain at least one active listing to be displayed on the shopfront.

Create a clickable marketing banner

You can add a clickable marketing banner to your shopfront to showcase a listing or shop category. Buyers can then select the banner to browse the listing or category.

Here's how to create a clickable marketing banner:
  1. Select the Shop tab in Seller Hub.

  2. In the Start using a Marketing Banner section, select Add a banner.

  3. Under Choose a banner destination, select Shop category or Listing.

  4. Choose the Category dropdown, or Select a listing and select your category or listing.

  5. Select Add a banner image to upload your image.

  6. Enter a title and description to display on your banner.

  7. Select Save banner.

Your clickable marketing banner image should be 600 x 600 pixels and less than 12MB.

Change the name of your shop

While you can change the name of your eBay Shop in Seller Hub, we don't advise it because any marketing links or bookmarks created by your buyers will no longer work, and your shop will also be ranked as a new site in some search engine results.

If you still want to change the name of your eBay Shop, the new name can't be:

  • the username of another member on eBay, or be misleadingly similar to the username of another eBay member

  • identical or misleadingly similar to another company's name that's protected by trademark law

  • a name that contains the word "eBay," or a name which is misleadingly similar to "eBay"

We take our role in protecting intellectual property very seriously. Before you rename your shop, read our article on intellectual property rights and using eBay's intellectual property.
