Ingersoll Pocket Watches

The Ingersoll watch company was launched in the USA in 1892 by Robert Hawley and his brother Charles Ingersoll. In 1896, Ingersoll manufactured watches that sold for just one dollar, which was a mass produced watch that was affordable to everyone.

Over time, Ingersoll developed their range of watches with a selection of higher grade and lower grade, dollar watches. Should you stumble upon a higher grade Ingersoll watch, these are considered to be worth the cost of repair and an investment piece.

Pocket watches

Ingersoll pocket watches come in a variety of materials, you will find many styles that are made of brass, which is typical of their earlier period of manufacturing. Many of the more recent Ingersoll pocket watches are made of chrome, stainless steel and some are either silver or gold.

Vintage pocket watches

Whilst you can find modern Ingersoll pocket watches, many collectors and enthusiasts want to opt for a vintage watch that is a true antique. You can find Ingersoll pocket watches from the likes of 1890s and later periods of the Victorian and Edwardian eras. There are some styles of Ingersoll pocket watches available from the Art Deco era and the 1950's too.

Watch features to look out for

There are a range of pocket watches with either a full open face or a flip cover attached onto the watch. Flip pocket watches allow the face to be protected, therefore reducing the amount of scratches on the glass.

The face colours themselves do vary, with the most popular watch models being in white, ivory, silver or black. The dials are very traditional in style, with many having roman numerals and a black dial.

Most Ingersoll watches come with a standard variety of features which include either a 12 hour or 24-hour dial and an alarm amongst others.
