New Shops features to take your business further

Learn how new Shop features can help you grow your business.

What you need to know

We’re redesigning Shops into a world-class tool for driving brand recognition, reaching buyers, and boosting sales. Sellers with an eBay Shop are already benefiting from new features like modern newsletter templates, increased Shop visibility across the eBay experience, and more ways to feature inventory.

With new and expanded Shop features, you’ll be able to manage your inventory, establish your brand, and give your Shop more visibility across eBay. Here’s what’s new:

  • Manage and highlight your inventory with automated featured items, Shop search filters for vehicle parts and accessories, and updated category navigation.
  • More tools to build your brand, including image editing and a new progress bar.
  • Get more visibility across eBay, with increased Shop presence on listings pages and in eBay search, recommended Shops on the eBay homepage, and your logo and details featured on subscribers’ seller profile pages.

More ways to manage and highlight your inventory

Draw attention to your top-selling listings, feature your recent coupons in a targeted newsletter, and more - Shops give you new ways to highlight your inventory and reach more buyers.

Send your Shop newsletters to buyer groups

With modern, easy-to-use templates, Shop newsletters help you build eye-catching designs and highlight your inventory.

When you set up a newsletter, you’ll see a new “Promotions/seasonal sale” template that works with your Coded Coupons and lets you tap into buyer groups to expand your reach.

This new template lets you reach beyond your newsletter subscribers by sending email newsletters to targeted buyer groups, such as buyers who’ve bought from you in the last 30 or 60 days. Buyer groups have already been available for Coded Coupons through Seller Hub, and now you can use them to get your Shop newsletter in front of more buyers.

Almost two-thirds of sellers who use Shop newsletters are already using buyer groups instead of subscribers to send coupons.* In the coming months, you’ll also have even more flexibility to share other Seller Hub Promotions, such as Volume Pricing and Order Size Discounts, through your newsletters. Set up your Shop newsletters now and start expanding your reach.

More ways to manage and highlight your inventory

Automate your Shop’s inventory strips

Last year, we launched customisable inventory strips that let you feature collections of items such as “Just in,” “Holiday collection,” and more. Globally, Shopfronts with inventory strips have already seen a 25% increase in buyers finding the item they’re looking for* - now, setting up and benefiting from these featured collections is even easier.

Previously, you had to manually select each individual item to feature in your Shop’s inventory strips. Now, you can set your inventory strips to automatically update based on your “Newly listed” or “Ending soonest” listings.

You also now have more seasonal featured item strips to choose from, including “Mother’s Day” and “Father’s Day.” Keep an eye out for more options to create and automate your featured listings. Learn more about Shops featured listings.

New Shop search filters for auto parts and accessories

Buyers looking for vehicle parts and accessories need to know they’ve got the right fit. On eBay search, buyers can add their exact make, model, and year and only see parts that will work for their vehicle.

Now, we’ve added these filters to Shop search. If you sell vehicle parts and accessories, your buyers can add their vehicle information in easy-to-use filters right on your Shop, and feel confident they’re getting exactly what they need for their vehicle.

Improved category navigation on Shopfronts

We heard your feedback that the “Shop by category” dropdown on Shopfronts wasn’t an intuitive way for buyers to shop your Shop categories.

Now, you’ll see your categories displayed in a new left-hand navigation, giving buyers an easy, at-a-glance way to explore your Shop categories.

Strengthen your brand and build trust with buyers

Your Shop is getting even more features to help you build brand recognition and establish yourself as a trusted seller.

More tools to help you build and establish your brand

On average, Shops that have a logo, billboard, and description get at least three times the number of views as Shops that haven’t uploaded branding*. We’re adding new tools to make it easier to add your branding and get the most out of your Shop.

With new image editing features, you now have the flexibility to crop, resize, and adjust your brand images to get the perfect look, all right within the Shop edit page. We’ve also worked with VistaCreate to provide easy-to-use templates, giving you even more ways to create the perfect logo and billboard image for your brand.

You’ll also see a new set-up progress bar, showing at a glance how far along you are in optimising your Shop’s branding, and handy tips on what to do next. You’ll automatically see this feature when you edit your Shop. Check it out and see what you can do to set your Shop up for success.

Increased visibility for your business and Shop

We’re introducing several new ways for buyers to find and navigate to your Shop across eBay, helping you get as much visibility as possible.

Buyers can now find your Shop in search

It’s now easier than ever for buyers to search for your Shop. When a buyer types your exact Shop name in the eBay search bar, they’ll see a link pointing them right to your Shopfront.

Increased visibility for your business and Shop

Your Shop now has more visibility than ever on listing pages, buyers’ homepage, and across eBay:

  • Buyers will see recommended Shops on the homepage based on their buying history and eBay searches.
  • Your Shop logo will now appear in more places throughout the listing page.
  • Listing pages now show your Shop name and branding in place of your profile logo and username.
  • Listing pages have a new Shop category module with up to 9 categories and a ‘“See all” button for buyers to explore more.
  • When buyers click “See other items” on your listing page, they’ll see your Shop-branded search and details.
  • If you have a Shop, you’ll notice that your Shop details and branding are now featured more prominently on your Seller Profile page.

What’s coming up for Shops?

There are more exciting updates on the way as Shops evolve into a feature-rich home for growing your business on eBay.

We’re committed to finding even more ways of driving customers to your Shop, from new access points, to more placements of your logo and Shop details across eBay. You’ll also have more ways to expand your marketing, including easier social sharing and expanded Shop newsletter features.

Stay tuned for more in the coming months.
