About us

Great Lakes Outpost was formed by a father/son duo who had a deep love of the outdoors. They have had adventures for years and have plenty of stories to tell! (Ask about the bear spray incident.) These explorers saw a need in the West Michigan area for a specialty outdoor retailer. Thus, they founded Great Lakes Outpost in 2016.

During this time, we've built up our fair share of used/returned/excess equipment so we thought we'd create an account just for that inventory - that's when "GLOliquidation" was born!

Whether you’re a weekend warrior or an expedition devotee, Great Lakes Outpost's locally owned and operated company understands the need for high-quality discounted outdoor gear. How do we know that the right gear makes all the difference? Because we are passionate about all things outdoors, of course! We are a band of hikers, bikers, animals lovers, foodies, and music aficionados all with a desire to be outside and playing.

    Very impressed with the seller and his customer support. I would definitely recommend and trust this seller. I hope to have the opportunity to do business with him again. As for the product I have been using GSI product since the early 1990s or about 35 years and have always been very happy with them. In regards to their spook multi-tool I was a little disappointed. The carabiner clip can pop off and is easily lost. The can opener/ bottle opener on the end is definitely and NOT a can opener
