    I’ve been collecting 78s for 50 years but have never seen such a mint copy of this scarce Gadski disc from Salome. She was preparing it for the Met to follow Fremstad, but the prudes on the Board were appalled by the opera and cancelled the run after Fremstad’s one performance in January 1907. Poor Gadski never did get to sing Salome at the Met. It wasn’t done again till 1934.
