    I woke up to the importance of shoe trees late in my sartorial development. Today's shoe trees are ugly as hell—injection molded plastic junk that belies the nice shoes they're meant for. I use only old wood trees like these for my Gucci loafers, which I've collected over the years. These trees are already being put to good use in the hall closet.
