A didactic digression: When I started buying and selling on eBay in 1997, it was a kick. There were only auctions, with anticipation built around those final few minutes. How close do I dare to bid near the end? Will I be outbid? Should I bid more? And you got to truly watch and care about an item that you knew would end soon. It is what made eBay a vibrant and exciting website. It is what made eBay. Now, much of what you see is buy it now, asking what everybody else asks, or lowering expectations with some "best" offer. Listen, Amazon has all that locked up, with free shipping, and a better feeling of security. I buy from eBay. I buy from Amazon. I buy from many websites. What I only get from eBay is the auction feeling of an uncertain but exciting future. That is why most of my sales sales on eBay are auctions. Pleasant bidding to all.
