So, at first I goofed because I thought the underside was the rug. Don't do that. It's a very pretty, shiny material. Not what I expected. Very soft. Short haired. If it brushes one way, you get white in it. That said, aesthetically, it looks like a much, much more expensive rug if brushed the same way. I'm either going to hate this thing in a month or love it. It decorates an entire movie basement. Looks good next to my Leg Lamp.
