    The cord was the right one for the electric blanket and the socket fit just fine, but when I plugged it in, the lights on the blanket switch just flashed erratically. With the original cord that was lost by the movers when I moved to a new house, one light would come on steady, to indicate low, medium, and high heat levels. But now the blanket remained cold and two of the lights just blinked. I found online that you can "re-set" it by unplugging it and trying again, but that didn't ever work.
