Capstar works well but you need to read ALL the instructions and follow them!
Item is half the price of other flea treatments, but instructions must be followed! This is for an infestation (according to the manufacturer). Sometimes additional treatments are needed, sometimes a supplemental product like shampoo must be used. If you don't launder bedding and get the eggs, of course it won't continue to work. That's like putting your dishes in the dishwasher without pre-rinsing them. This is a quick-fix, but you also have to put in some effort to get rid if those nasty critters! The dog should be washed, bedding laundered, and areas around as well.
