Philips DA1000 FM/DAB Radio
Having looked at just about every other portable DAB radio on the market, I settled for the Philips DA1000 for its solid build, which coupled with its size, makes it the ideal choice for slipping in the pocket and not having to worry about its safety. I seem to spend a lot of time up ladders/scaffolding etc and consequently the radio can get quite a battering. It takes it in its stride. I have read other reviews commenting on the radio's switch being temperamental, having now bought 2 of the units (one for a friend's birthday), neither has suffered with switch problem - or any other problem comes to that. One handy feature present in this Philip's, which is absent on most other DAB radios, is its capability of receiving FM when DAB isn't available. The sound quality is excellent, and battery life is fine - I put a pair of fully charged re-chargeables in first thing in the morning, and the Philips is still going at tea time, after playing non-stop all day. All in all, I can thoroughly recommend this little radio, it does exactly what I want - uninterrupted listening where I want, when I want.
