Good demonstration of technique and a good starter for the beginning artist
This is a very nice addition to any artist's collection. It is a bit out-of-date, as they no longer manufacture the "liquid acrylic" the author prefers to use. That being said, her "liquid acrylic" is none other than a certain type of ink and could be replaced with nearly any other waterproof medium. The author also demonstrates numerous techniques: dry on dry, wet on wet, and even salt/alcohol techniques. And, the techniques in the book are by no means the only ones. It is merely up to the individual artist to try new ones or build off the ones demonstrated in the book. To learn pen/ink and watercolor artistry, you will definitely need more than just this one book; however, Claudia Nice's book is a good start. My only complaint is that some of her techniques make her artwork look a little too cartoonish for me. Don't get me wrong-- she's excellent at what she does, but I am more for the naturalistic/realistic type artistry. I also own better "guides" to technique. So, if you're looking for a step-by-step guide, your money would be better spent elsewhere. Overall, I would recommend this book to any artist looking to aid their skills, just don't rely solely on this book; there are better, more detailed guides available.

Awesome Movie!!!

Excellent addition to any collection!
When I was younger, my father purchased the older edition of this book. It was one of the best and most useful books he ever purchased. I used it for school projects and homework numerous times, and it was very handy when trying to identify an unknown plant or animal. This guide is divided into easy-to-find sections and all the entries are coupled with an illustration. Overall, this is an excellent book to add to your collection, whether you're an adult or child. I highly recommend it.
