Lunar Series 2 "The Rooster"
I have collected the entire series 1 and all the series 2 , up to , and including the Rooster . These Lunar Series coins are absolutely immaculate . The Rooster is the latest "annual" issue by the Perth Mint . These coins hold their luster and shine . None of them show any sign of "milk spots" or any other staining . I have them in beautiful red presentation boxes . They also have increased in value over time . I believe the mintage is limited to 300,000 coins . The Rooster , beautiful coin , design , holds up over time , increases in value , and only 1 coin issued annually . The 2 series that I have in the presentation boxes are keepers . I will probably never sell these sets . Only 2 or 3 more coins to complete the second series . I am very happy with these sets . Sincerely , James

Franklins mintage run cut short by Kennedy's tragic death .
Franklin half dollars are my favorite coin to collect . This series would have run another 10 years to 1973 , had it not been for the death of John Kennedy . Congress changed the mintage rules upon JFK'S death and rushed to switch from the Franklin collection . Millions of Franklin coins have been minted during the 1948 to 1963 run . Proofs , P , D and S mint marks . Finding Franklins in high grades is another story . The Franklin collection is a favorite among many collectors across the globe . As more people jump aboard the band wagon , the supply of decent coins dwindles . Of course , this will only drive up the prices on higher grade Franklins . Proofs graded above 64 or 65 will bring premium prices . Circulated Franklins , especially those with Full Bell Lines on the reverse side will also bring higher prices . Collecting proofs that have a cameo effect are in great demand . These are coins where the portrait of Franklin is frosted white , while the background is a deep black mirror . These coins are not only beautiful in the conditions I have described , but they will continue to appreciate in value , as they become harder and harder to find . James
