I am a private seller. We are gradually reducing the quantity of stuff in our home in advance of eventually downsizing. There is a lot of stuff.
Many of the items were inherited from parents, grandparents and other relatives. Also many items retained in the loft after our children left home in the 1990s.
I enjoy the process of prepping items, describing them honestly and taking photos. If there are faults or blemishes I try to describe them accurately. In over 15 years of selling I think I've only slipped up once or twice and have promptly come to an agreement with the buyer.
