Bought these 'phones as I cannot get on with the 'in ear' type. I also wanted a pair with soft cushioned ear pads, were comfortable to wear and that reproduced sound that is clear. These Philips 'phones meet that need. Being padded, they reduce considerably external noise and keep in the music you are listening to. One other point that is relevant - the earpieces fold up inside the head-band making them small enough to pocket for use with a laptop or portable music device. Highly recommended for those of you on the move.
