The only other Lettermen Christmas video I've ever found available was a homespun edition from about 20 years. It was on VHS and was poor sound and video quality. However, if you are a Lettermen devotee, it was still something to enjoy. This newest video on DVD is a vast improvement in quality but still falls short of the quality Bary Manilow used to film his latest Las Vegas show. Of course, The Lettermen don't demand the ticket price of size of venue either. 9-10 cameras, vis-a-vis 2-3, filmig at once certainly changes the price of the production, not to mention the quality. Nonetheless, the newest Letter Christmas DVD is very enjoyable to watch and clearly illustrates their ability to still harmonize. What really hits you however is the fact that Lettermen fans ARE growing old. I'm not 52 and have been a fan since I was in 8th grade. Looking at the audience in the Christmas DVD you wonder what percentage can still walk in on their own. Many looked like they were asleep in their chairs during the concert! Buy it - you'll enjoy it!
