Better than the TV series.
Even better than the TV series, 'Cardinal', on which it was based. It had a great sense of place, a pcy plot, an intruiging troubled hero and it was wry and witty at times.

Scandi Noir at its most engaging
Cracking crime thriller. Good characters, takes the series with Malin Fors and her fellow detectives forward, well plotted and plenty of atmospheric background. Not for the squeamish but then you wouldn’t be reading Scandi Noir if you were.
