About

Hi, I’m figos7 – a long-standing collector of rare VHS tapes, vintage sci-fi toys, and retro games, with a particular focus on Aliens, Predator and other cult classics from the '80s and '90s. The vast majority of my items listed have been personally curated, well maintained, and often includes rare extras/original receipts.

Due to unforeseen personal circumstances and a deterioration in my health, I’m now parting with much of my collection. This has been a difficult decision, but it’s necessary to help manage ongoing financial and medical pressures.

All items are described accurately and dispatched with care. Thank you for your support and for giving these pieces a new home. More items to follow.

Capturing the G11
I am aware of the quality Canon produces in terms of both product and mechanisms behind the performance of such cameras. I was exceptionally pleased, but not overwhelmed by the photo quality. Yes, the G11 performs well and produces good photos especially during night shots (but one has to have a tripod to benefit from clear photos). I paid 316 pounds for mine and although I managed to save nearly 200 pounds of the original retail price, I still think it is still expensive. The camera would have been ideal for its price had it had a better zoom lens of at least 10x instead of the 5x; HDV and the ability to capture in 3:2 which it lacks! It is a little bulky for a simple point and shoot especially when you compare it with the Panasonic compact cameras or the Casio series; I previously owned an EX-Z850, which is light, compact and takes exceptional photos despite it being only 8 Megapixels and over 4 years old. Nonetheless, the G11 feels solid and well built with controls that are user friendly. The controls are also one of its selling points. In all it is the best camera that I have had, but one has to pay a premium price tag to get hold of one. However, being an owner of two Canon Camcorders one thing that I have noticed is the battery performance. Canon devices do take a toll on the battery life. Having Casio Ex series cameras as well as Sony the battery life and performance in relation to the devices were exceptional – close to excellent, but like the G11 the battery drains and the battery loses its overall longevity after a year of use. Canon really needs to make their devices battery use friendly and produce more efficient branded batteries.
