    NOT a Genuine Apple product as advertised. Packaged exactly like Apple, but missing key functions: does not support a mic in headphones; does not support volume buttons on headphones; disables phone’s built-in mic. Gave vendor chance to replace it with one that works - they returned my money instead by cancelling the order after the fact (because they know they are selling a fake?). I wasted hours on this. Bought a Ugreen (similar price) - provides all functionality of original Apple adapter.

From what I can tell so far it is the same as what Apple sells at a fraction of the retail price. No problems with it so far.
