Radio Shack SAME All Hazards Desktop Weather Alert Radio NOAA - 12-521

OK but certain "features" make it not so great
I was disappointed in several features of this radio. 1) It is cumbersome to set up all the various individual alarms that you might want it to warn you about ("SAME" feature). 2) The speaker volume can only be minimized to a fairly high level. That is, you can't set it for lower volumes, as the minimum volume with the +/- buttons is what I would call 'half the volume' of the maximum volume. I was thinking about adding a resistor to the speaker to modify this range. 3) In order to get any reception, you are required to fully extend the antenna, at least in my service area. As a weather radio, it works fine. But the loud alarms etc. are an annoyance.
